In Washington, DC,  PSR works on two aspects of how the environment affects health: global warming and toxin reduction. PSR brings the voice of medical and public health professionals to the forefront of environmental health decision-making and fights to protect today’s and tomorrow’s generations from toxic degradation of the environment.

Our local efforts through our partnership with the Women's Health & Environmental Network (WHEN) mirror these efforts. WHEN champions the health of women and their families by reducing toxic exposures through education, research and direct action. WHEN is spearheading a campaign with more than 50 health care institutions to reduce their environmental footprint by eliminating mercury, phthalates, and developing sustainable food practices that minimize pesticide exposure. WHEN provides a public health response to environmental issues facing us, including the voice of medical and public health professionals. In Philadelphia, PSR also partners with

PennEnvironment to address the effects of global warming on health  through lobbying and educational initiatives. As part of our commitment to the environment, PSR actively supports the activities The Women’s Health and Environmental Network (WHEN).
