Brian presents different web-based tools that residents can use to inform themselves about pollution and environmental injustice in their neighborhoods.

Howarth, MD, FACOEM is the Director of the Community Outreach and Engagement Core of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET) at the University of Pennsylvania Dr. Howarth presents on the importance of environmental research in determining the cumulative causes of diseases such as asthma and cancer in Philadelphia.

Perspectives on Our Right to Breathe: A Workshop on Health, Air Quality, and Philly’s Energy Future Dr. Peter DeCarlo, PhD, is the Co-Director of the Drexel Air Resources Research Laboratory and Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering and Chemistry at Drexel University. “General air quality is regional and weather driven”: Dr. DeCarlo explains the difficulties of getting accurate data about air pollution from the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery and how different air pollutants change and travel once released into the environment.
